Columbus, Ohio – When combat veterans Danny Fields and Steve Reis met in graduate school in 2015, they immediately hit it off and knew they wanted to go into business together. Today, their company, Utility Solutions Group (USG), is announcing their first major expansion under their leadership.

USG produces high-quality pressure regulators for residential, commercial, and industrial use in natural gas infrastructure, and proudly sources their materials domestically. They serve a wide range of businesses, and their solutions provide the dependable and safe service the industries they serve rely on to protect their customers, employees, and equipment.

“As military veterans and graduates of rival military colleges, Steve and I had a strong bond from the moment we met,” said Danny Fields, president of USG. “That bond brought with it a trust that goes a long way when you’re working together to establish a strong business model. This expansion firmly establishes our trust in the Columbus job market and brings manufacturing capabilities that will remain in Columbus for a very long time.”

“We are so proud of how far this company has come and how quickly,” said Steve Reis, CEO of USG. “We’ve been able to develop a culture of technical rigor and hard work, and that only happens when you hire great people. It’s an all-star team and we’re excited to stand up the new facility and begin fulfilling customer orders.”

USG is purchasing seven new product lines from Sensus, a Xylem brand, and this expansion will allow them to control and maintain the product lines. Their operation will be serving many local, national and international clients with their products.

“The success of USG is a story about two extraordinary entrepreneurs making a meaningful difference,” said Andrew J. Ginther, mayor of Columbus. “They’re doing more than creating jobs; they’re rapidly ascending within their industry while putting Columbus on the map as a leader of manufacturing in the 21st century.”

The new USG facility will be located at 1050 Dearborn Drive in Columbus. The 120,000 square foot expansion will allow the company to grow from 17 jobs to 49. $842,406 will be invested in the project to fund facility costs, training, and purchase of new equipment. Hiring will begin immediately.

“When veterans commit to getting positive results, they don’t give up until they succeed, which has been a driver for Utility Solutions Group’s success in Ohio,” said J.P. Nauseef, JobsOhio president and CEO. “USG has demonstrated a keen ability to find a niche in the manufacturing market that is growing demand for this expansion that will allow the company to more than double its Columbus workforce.”
