The Sofidel Group is one of the leading manufacturers of paper for hygienic and domestic use worldwide. Founded nearly 50 years ago in Italy and still privately held by families of the founders, the company is recognized as the sixth largest manufacturer of tissue paper in the world, with operations in 13 countries.
Sofidel chose the Columbus Region for a U.S. manufacturing facility, the first greenfield project for the company.
The $300 million, 280-acre Circleville manufacturing facility began operations in 2018 and increased production in the U.S. Successful collaboration between One Columbus and SelectUSA was a driving force in Sofidel’s attraction to the Columbus Region.
The company likes to make its products as close to customers as possible in order to speed up delivery times and cut logistics costs and the Columbus Region was an ideal location to make this possible.
