Cities in Franklin County
As the capital city of Ohio, Columbus is also the heart of the Columbus Region. It houses arts and entertainment districts, hosts the Region’s major sports, and is a trendy city for young professionals. The city is also notably the home of The Ohio State University, a major talent incubator.
One of Columbus’ most historic areas, Bexley is a small but stately town marked by its heritage and aesthetic. A family-oriented community, the city is also home to Capital University, one of Ohio’s top-ranked private universities.
Canal Winchester is proud of its long history of craftsmanship. The tradition continues today in the form of breweries, wineries and manufactures. Just 20 minutes from John Glenn International Airport and 10 minutes from Rickenbacker International Airport, it’s no surprise that businesses of all types have discovered the convenience of Canal Winchester.
Located at the northern end of Franklin County, Dublin has experienced significant growth in the past decade as families and businesses have surged to the area. It is known for its excellent school district, historic downtown area and the big-name healthcare and tech organizations that make their headquarters there.
Gahanna lies just northeast of Columbus, less than 10 minutes from John Glenn International Airport. Its location makes it perfect for people and businesses that want to be close to Columbus but are seeking a quieter environment with more space to expand. Filled with parks, the suburb is a family favorite in the Columbus Region.
Grandview Heights is a small suburb directly west of Columbus. Largely residential, Grandview’s vintage homes and walkability make it popular with both families and visitors. Because the landlocked suburb cannot grow outward, rising home demand has led to rising buildings as well.

Grove City is located approximately 15 minutes southwest of Columbus. Once an agriculturally dominated area, the area exploded in recent years with businesses and families settling in and building out. New infrastructure and direct access to Interstate 71 make Grove City very accessible.
Groveport can be found southeast of Columbus, right beside Rickenbacker International Airport. One of the smaller Columbus suburbs by population, the proximity to the airport and distance from the traffic of Downtown Columbus make it a very strategic location for distribution centers and warehouses.
Northwest of Columbus is Hilliard, a quicky expanding suburb that benefits from easy access to the Interstate 270 beltway. A thriving community surrounded by agriculture, Hilliard offers a quieter community for families with plenty of space for businesses.
Known for being the home of L Brands and Abercrombie & Fitch, New Albany has become the launchpad for numerous headquarters and facilities with no signs of slowing down. Some of New Albany’s newest residents include Facebook, Google and Intel. The dramatic influx of businesses to the area over the past decade has also spurred the growth of a tight-knit residential community.
Obetz is located just south of Columbus and directly north of Rickenbacker International Airport. Once a firmly industrial area, Obetz is still an important location for the Region’s distribution centers and warehouses. However, the area’s residential population has also made it an attractive place for families looking to be close to work at one of Obetz’s many industrial facilities.
Previously a small farming community, Pickerington has grown into one of Columbus’ most sprawling suburbs. The city’s affordable houses, good school district and beautiful park system have increasingly attracted young families. Additionally, the widening of State Route 256 has made it even more accessible to businesses.
Located due east of Columbus, Reynoldsburg might be best known in the business community for being the headquarters of Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works. As one of the largest suburbs of Columbus, Reynoldsburg has much to offer both families and businesses.
One of the most residential suburbs of Columbus, Upper Arlington’s picturesque boulevards and top-notch school district make it very popular with families. The city leans further into its family-oriented feel with its city parks and restaurant district.
One of the northernmost cities in Franklin County, Westerville is full of small-town charm and natural views, while retaining access to some of the Columbus Region’s biggest business hubs. Home to T. Marzetti Company and Otterbein University, Westerville has plenty of space to grow with the traditions of an established community as its foundation.
Whitehall is about 10 minutes east of Downtown Columbus, less than 10 minutes from John Glenn International Airport. A quiet, family-oriented area, Whitehall is a growing economy that continues to add new businesses every year.
Worthington is located north of Columbus, conveniently bordering the intersections of State Route 315, Interstate 71 and Interstate 270. The historic downtown area and homes have drawn many families to the area, coexisting next to warehouses and an abundance of industrial manufacturers taking advantage of the quick highway access.
