The Busy Season

August 19, 2013

The next four months will be an incredible time in the Columbus Region. Businesses are expanding, hiring and driving the Region forward. Public projects are beginning that will have multi-generational impact and reclaim natural assets like the Olentangy and Scioto rivers to create a better place to live and work. Thousands of young men and women will arrive at our college campuses to prepare to lead and serve organizations around the world. The Region will host two wonderful international events during the first week of October – a FIFA World Cup Qualifier at Crew Stadium (USA vs. Mexico) and The Presidents Cup at Muirfield Village in Dublin.

JobsOhio and each local economic development organization will work to make our region more competitive, and the One Columbus team will educate growing companies on three continents about the benefits of Ohio and the Columbus Region. The 10X mentor-driven accelerator will focus on converting promising entrepreneurial ideas into viable businesses and, ultimately, sustainable companies. Managed by Founders Factory, it is a collaborative effort among Ohio’s New Entrepreneurs (ONE) Fund, TechColumbus and The Ohio State University. For our economic development community, the fall will culminate on December 6 at the ED411 meeting at the Ohio Union.

Let’s work together to leverage each activity into more jobs, more investment and more opportunities for people across the entire region. If we do so, it will be an impactful four months. Your support and engagement are valued by us and our partners.
