It is sometimes necessary to step away, get perspective, learn from others, and rejuvenate your competitive juices. I’m currently attending the International Economic Development Council’s Leadership Conference, a great organization of professionals from all over the world working to make their community better.
The challenges are enormous and complex, and vary widely based on the country, state, or community served – but the common purpose is always the same. We all want to improve the lives of our fellow citizens and the areas we serve. Whether you are an economic or community development professional, or a stakeholder in the process – thank you for your hard work, ideas, and passion.
Please pass along your sincere gratitude to someone this week who has made your community better. Thank a board member, a volunteer, or post a note of gratitude to those that are working to build a better economy, create opportunity, and connect people.
