Columbus, Ohio (May 2, 2022) – One Columbus, the economic development organization for the 11-county Columbus Region, has been named a recipient of the 2022 Mac Conway Award for the fifth consecutive year. The annual award recognizes the top 20 economic development groups in the nation and is granted by Site Selection Magazine, the leading publication in corporate real estate, facility planning, location analysis and foreign direct investment.
The Mac Conway Award winners are determined by an index of corporate job creation and facility-related capital investment data calculated both cumulatively and per capita. The rankings’ methodology is based on data from the proprietary Conway Projects Database, which tracks private-sector facility projects worldwide, and several other global economic data sources.

The Mac Conway Award is named after the founder of Conway and Site Selection magazine, McKinley “Mac” Conway, to recognize the work of outstanding economic development organizations and the important contribution they make to grow their respective local economies.
“The Mac Conway Awards honor those local and regional agencies that excelled in attracting capital investment to their areas in 2021,” says Mark Arend, editor in chief of Site Selection. “While that investment is significant, the awards more specifically recognize the jobs created by new and expanding projects and the local economic benefit that follows.”
One Columbus was named a recipient of the Mac Conway Award in 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018, and received an honorable mention in 2017. Earlier this year, the Columbus Region was listed No. 9 on Site Selection magazine’s ‘Top 10 Metro Areas’ list, with the state of Ohio ranking No. 2 on the magazine’s list of the ‘Top 10 States’ as part of the 2021 Governor’s Cups.
