Columbus, Ohio – Würth Industry North America, a leading nationwide supplier of production material, safety, MRO, and metalworking products has announced a $42.5 million investment to establish a major distribution center in Columbus, eventually creating up to 160 new full-time jobs. The company will acquire a 472,000-square-foot facility at 1568 Georgesville Road, with room for an additional 500,000 square feet of future expansion to accommodate growth.

The project reinforces Würth Industry’s commitment to delivering faster service, while enhancing product availability and offering improved operational efficiency for its customers nationwide. The Columbus facility represents a major expansion of Würth Industry’s capabilities to deliver leading-edge solutions to their growing customer base and will stock the full product assortment, including industrial supplies, safety equipment, and fastening materials.

“Columbus offers a strategic advantage for Würth Industry’s expansion, with its central location, robust infrastructure, and access to a skilled workforce,” said  Bastian Rottenberg, CEO of Würth MRO, Safety & Metalworking, a division of Würth Industry North America. “This facility will allow us to better serve our customers across the US through enhanced distribution capabilities. I’d like to thank the City of Columbus and its partners for their collaboration throughout the process and we look forward to growing in the region for years to come.”

The building, which previously housed another company before its closure in mid-2024, is being quickly repurposed into a key hub for Würth Industry’s nationwide operations, beginning this summer. In addition, JobsOhio plans to provide assistance, which will be made public after a final agreement is executed.

“The City of Columbus continues to show how quickly we can turn challenges into opportunities,” said Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. “In just a short time, our team has worked to ensure that a facility left vacant by one company is now home to another growing business. Würth Industry’s investment brings high-quality jobs and strengthens Columbus’ position as a leader in logistics and distribution.”

With this expansion, Ohio continues to grow as a leader in logistics, advanced manufacturing, and industrial supply chains. Würth joins a growing number of global companies choosing to invest in the Columbus Region.

“Würth Industry’s decision to expand in Ohio is further proof that our state offers the workforce, infrastructure, and business climate companies need to succeed,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “This investment strengthens Ohio’s position in logistics and industrial supply, and we look forward to supporting Würth’s long-term growth in the Columbus Region.”
