February 23, 2015

Columbus, OH – The South Side of Columbus continues to be a hot spot for job creation with today’s announcement that The Superior Die, Tool & Machine Company, will be adding 35 new jobs as part of a $6.7 million expansion of its Fairwood Avenue facility.

The company will begin filling the new production positions this spring, eventually bringing its total workforce to 189. Superior’s Stamping Division is in a separate facility on Marion Road, also on the city’s south side.

“It’s great to see yet another company expand in Columbus and bring more new jobs for our residents,” said Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman. “With this announcement from Superior Die, Tool & Machine, the South Side’s renaissance continues.”

The manufacturer will add four 1,000-to-1,200-ton capacity stamping presses as it seeks to grow its market share in the automotive and heavy truck industry. The total investment includes $5.6 million for machinery and equipment and $1.1 million in building improvements.

“Our partnership with the City of Columbus and the South Side community is something we value a great deal,” said Richard Holstein, president, The Superior Die, Tool & Machine Company. “The location is exactly what we need and provides access to a tremendous local workforce. We are excited about this next step for our business.”
