Columbus, Ohio – The Home Depot, the world’s largest home improvement retailer, has announced the opening of a new 151,000-square-foot distribution facility in Grove City, Ohio. Of the 71 total jobs coming to Ohio, the company is creating 24 new jobs in the Columbus Region, including roles for managers, area supervisors, office associates, warehouse associates and drivers.

The Home Depot’s new facility, located at 3563 Southpark Place in Grove City, will enable the company to manage customer delivery and installation of large appliances such as washers, dryers and refrigerators ordered in stores or online. From final sale to removal of old appliances, the operation offers an improved purchase and delivery experience for Home Depot customers in the Columbus Region. The facility is part of The Home Depot’s multi-year supply chain expansion, which aims to provide same day or next-day delivery to 90% of the U.S. population, whether they are do-it-yourselfers or professional customers.

“Our Grove City operation is vital to our supply chain expansion and marks a key step in our overall plan to provide the fastest, most reliable appliance delivery to the Columbus Region,” said Kyle Dennis, vice president of supply chain development for The Home Depot.

In addition to Grove City, The Home Depot has distribution centers in Hamilton and Stow. Currently, there are more than 275 full- and part-time seasonal associates across Home Depot’s stores and supply chain facilities for the spring season in the Columbus, Ohio, metro area.

“We’re eager to welcome The Home Depot distribution facility to our community, and we look forward to fostering its long-term success in the Columbus Region,” said Richard L. “Ike” Stage, mayor of Grove City. “The company’s further investment and confidence in the Region is a testament to our unmatched consumer reach and impressive logistics infrastructure, now increasingly important for companies due to the boom in e-commerce.”

The Columbus Region is a global logistics hub that supports some of the world’s largest brands and top logistics service providers, making it a critical link in industrial and consumer supply chains. In fact, the region’s location gives companies access to 46% of the country’s population – 151 million people – within a day’s drive.

“Home Depot’s investment in the Columbus Region is its second in Ohio to support its supply chain. This investment is further evidence that Fortune 50 companies look to Ohio as an ideal location for open and secure supply chains,” said J.P. Nauseef, president and CEO of JobsOhio. “The facility in Grove City will benefit from Ohio’s talent and location as Home Depot’s customer demand continues to grow.”
