Columbus, OH — Superior Plastics Inc., a 100% employee-owned custom injection molding manufacturer, will invest more than $5 million to expand its Logan County operations, creating 25 new jobs and building upon the 133 existing positions as the company prepares for its next chapter of growth.

Superior Plastics, which merged with Majestic Plastics in 2023, has grown from a local manufacturer into a globally competitive supplier serving customers across the automotive, medical, infant care and construction industries. The company ships products throughout North America, Europe, China and Australia while maintaining its roots in Central Ohio.

Nearly 30 years after opening its doors, Superior Plastics is making its next major investment in Logan County. The expansion reflects the company’s continued confidence in the people and community that have supported its growth.

“Superior Plastics has grown by investing in our people and delivering for our customers,” said Shay Burris, general manager of operations at Superior Plastics. “Becoming employee-owned strengthened that commitment, and this expansion gives our team the space, technology and capacity to continue growing together. We are proud to keep building our future right here in Logan County.”

The expansion includes the purchase and renovation of a larger manufacturing facility in Bellefontaine. The new facility will provide additional manufacturing capacity, improve workflow and create space for future expansion while supporting the company’s continued investment in its workforce.

“Superior Plastics has helped build careers and support families in Bellefontaine for many years,” said Bellefontaine Mayor Dave Crissman. “Their continued investment means new opportunities for residents, a stronger local manufacturing base and another reminder that companies can grow here while staying connected to the community.”

Superior Plastics became 100% employee-owned in 2023, reinforcing a culture built around long-term investment in its people. That culture is reflected across the company, where 10 families are represented by two or more employees, with some families having several members on the team. As Superior Plastics approaches its 30th anniversary in 2027, leadership continues to emphasize workforce training, career development and opportunities for employees to build lasting careers.

“Some of the strongest economic development stories begin with companies that are already here,” said Jonas Peterson, president of One Columbus. “Superior Plastics has built a globally competitive manufacturing business in Logan County. This investment gives them the capacity to compete globally while continuing to create opportunity locally.”

“Ohio’s manufacturing strength is built on companies that continue to invest, innovate and create opportunity year after year,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “Superior Plastics’ expansion demonstrates how employee-owned manufacturers can compete on a global stage while continuing to grow in the communities they call home.”
