Columbus, Ohio – PPG will invest more than $280 million to expand its existing manufacturing site in Delaware, Ohio, constructing a new 100,000-square-foot advanced facility dedicated to automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) coatings production. The expansion at PPG’s current Delaware site will create 100 new full-time jobs and further strengthen the Columbus Region’s position as a leader in advanced manufacturing and automotive innovation.
Pending local incentive approvals, construction on the new facility at the Delaware site is expected to begin later this year, with operations projected to launch in 2028. The expansion builds on PPG’s longstanding presence in Delaware, where the company currently employs approximately 450 people.
“As the automotive OEM industry continues to evolve, PPG’s expanded capabilities in Delaware, Ohio, will help us deliver the next generation of high-quality, sustainably advantaged coatings technologies,” said Alisha Bellezza, PPG senior vice president, automotive and packaging coatings. “This investment, which is included within PPG’s previously communicated capital spending targets, strengthens our ability to serve customers with improved efficiency, quality and responsiveness.”
The new facility will produce a range of paints and coatings for automotive OEMs and automotive parts suppliers, supporting growing demand for high-performance and sustainably advantaged solutions across North America.
“PPG’s decision to expand its Delaware site speaks to the durability of our manufacturing base,” said Tom Stipkovich, director of project management at One Columbus. “Companies that have operated here for decades continue to reinvest because they see long-term value in our workforce, our logistics position and our ability to support advanced industrial growth. This project deepens an already strong foundation and creates more opportunity for families in the Columbus Region.”
By choosing to expand its existing Delaware site, PPG reinforces the strength of the Region’s workforce, infrastructure and supply chain connectivity. The decision reflects confidence in both the local team and the broader market access the Columbus Region provides.
“PPG’s investment in Delaware underscores Ohio’s leadership in advanced manufacturing and the automotive supply chain,” said JobsOhio President and CEO. “This latest expansion keeps a world-class manufacturer growing at a strategic location with a skilled workforce dedicated to building PPG’s long-term success.”
