December 15, 2015

Columbus, OH –MedVet Associates, LLC, a leading specialty healthcare center for pets, has announced it will add a second facility in the Columbus Region. The company’s commitment of $1.65 million will be used to purchase and renovate a 42,000 square foot space at 350 East Wilson Bridge in Worthington, located adjacent to its 57,000 square foot headquarters facility at 300 East Wilson Bridge. The investment will bring 99 jobs to the Columbus Region.

“Worthington has been a great partner in our growth and we’re excited to expand here,” said Dr. Eric Schertel, president of MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets. “The additional space will allow for future expansion of administrative, laboratory, clinical, parking and other needs. It gives us the flexibility necessary to exercise our organizational goal of healthy growth.”

The company is adding 41 new headquarters positions and 58 new clinical positions to its current 262 employee roster, including administrative assistants, developers, analysts, accountants and customer support specialists. Hiring will begin in the first quarter of 2016.

“MedVet is an outstanding corporate citizen and community partner,” said Worthington City Manager Matt Greeson. “Not only are they a key employer, they also provide valuable services to our residents and the region, and are engaged in the community. We are pleased to see MedVet grow in the City of Worthington and congratulate them on their expansion.”

MedVet’s current facility houses the most extensive and state-of-the-art emergency and specialty healthcare services for pets in Central Ohio, and is home to an entirely integrated team of oncology experts. The Central Ohio medical center has grown dramatically to meet the needs of the community over the last 25 years.
