Kenny McDonald Selected as International Economic Development Council Committee Chair

Columbus, OH – The Nominating Committee of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) has elected Kenny McDonald, CEcD, chief economic officer, Columbus 2020, as chairperson of its Planning and Business Development Committee. The election took place during IEDC’s 2014 Annual Conference, held Oct. 19-22, 2014 in Fort Worth, Texas.

“As the world’s leading membership organization for professionals in the field of economic development, IEDC’s work has become vital to reviving the current economic environment,” said Chairman of the Board-elect, JoAnn Crary. “We look forward to the leadership Mr. McDonald will provide in his new role as chairman of the Planning and Business Development Committee at IEDC.”

As chief economic officer of Columbus 2020, McDonald leads all economic development and business attraction efforts in the Columbus Region. McDonald has an extensive background in site selection, regional economic development, community marketing, business recruitment and international business development. He holds the professional designation of Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), awarded through the International Economic Development Council.
