International Economic Development Council Elects Columbus 2020’s Kenny McDonald as Committee Chair of the Performance Oversight and Monitoring Committee

Columbus, OH – The Board of Directors of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) has elected Columbus 2020 President and CEO Kenny McDonald as Committee Chair of the Performance Oversight and Monitoring Committee. Appointments were announced at IEDC’s 2015 Annual Conference, which was held October 4-7, in Anchorage, Alaska. McDonald was also reappointed to the IEDC Board of Directors, and its governance committee, which he has served on since January 2015.

“As the world’s leading membership organization for professionals in the field of economic development, IEDC’s work has become vital to the global economy,” said IEDC Chair-elect Barry Matherly, CEcD, FM, and president and CEO of Greater Richmond Partnership, Inc. “It is an honor to serve on the Board and I look forward to working with Kenny McDonald and the other members to provide leadership and service to IEDC. We will continue to move forward in fulfilling IEDC’s goal of delivering quality information, education and outstanding development opportunities to its members.”

McDonald joined the Columbus 2020 team in July 2010. As president and chief economic officer, he serves as the primary leader of all economic development and business attraction efforts for the 11-county Columbus Region. McDonald has an extensive background in site selection, regional economic development, community marketing, business recruitment and international business development.

McDonald holds the economic development industry’s leading designation of Certified Economic Developer (CEcD). He also serves on the boards of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, NAIOP Central Ohio, SciTech and the Transportation Research Center.
