Columbus, OH – Exel Direct, an industry-leading, non-asset based provider of home delivery solutions, today announced it will double its Columbus Region workforce in the next three years – adding 95 employees, inclusive of corporate headquarters and call center personnel, to its current full-time roster of 47. A former business division of Exel, the North American leader in contract logistics, Exel Direct was sold to California-based Platinum Equity in early June.
“Exel has a strong history in the Columbus Region and around the globe for providing top-notch logistics services, and we are confident that Exel Direct will continue that momentum in the final mile space,” said Renee Albarano, chief financial officer, Exel Direct. “Expanding the company’s presence in the Columbus Region, which is supported by strong infrastructure and a robust talent pool, was an easy decision.”
Exel Direct’s additional committed jobs will consist of both managerial and executive positions in support of the company’s headquarters, as well as operational and administrative positions in support of the company’s call center. Hiring is expected to begin Aug. 1.
As part of its expansion, Exel Direct also is evaluating plans to move its headquarters and call center from its current Westerville location to a yet-to-be-determined spot in the Columbus Region. The move will represent an approximate $5 million investment in the Region.
