Columbus, OH – Columbus 2020, the economic development organization for the 11-county Columbus Region, announced today the appointment of Julie Sloat to its Board of Directors.
Sloat is president and chief operating officer of AEP Ohio, where she is responsible for all aspects of electric service for AEP Ohio’s 1.5 million customers. Sloat joined AEP in 1999 in the credit risk management department. She then worked in investor relations and regulatory case management for the company. Prior to her current position, she was senior vice president and treasurer, overseeing AEP’s treasury, trusts and investment activities.
Beyond AEP, Sloat serves on the Park National Corporation and Park National Bank board, is a member of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is on the Goodwill Columbus board, where she acts as chairperson of the finance committee. Additionally, she is an executive champ for the AEP Peloton and a member of the Greater Columbus Sports Commission Executive Committee. Sloat holds both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in business administration from The Ohio State University.

The Columbus 2020 Board of Directors is composed of private and public-sector leaders that guide the Columbus 2020 Regional Growth Strategy, which aims to strengthen, grow and diversify the Columbus Region economy.
