Columbus, OH — Burns & McDonnell helps clients design and build the infrastructure that powers modern life. Growing demand from the energy sector is now driving the firm’s own next phase in Columbus. Pending local approval, it will relocate to a larger Downtown office, providing room to accommodate over 45 additional jobs as the business grows.
The 100% employee-owned firm is building on a team of 120 existing employees while creating capacity for future job growth and continued investment in the region’s talent pipeline.
The move will take Burns & McDonnell from its current Arena District office to a larger space at Two Miranova Place. The new office will give its employee-owners room to grow while keeping the firm close to clients across Central Ohio.
Burns & McDonnell opened its Columbus office in 2017 after more than two decades of project work in Ohio. The local team has since grown to 120 employees and become an important part of the firm’s statewide presence.

Rising energy demand is creating new investment across the Columbus Region and increasing the need for infrastructure that can support it. Burns & McDonnell has spent more than 125 years helping clients meet challenges like these. Its engineers help clients expand power generation, modernize the transmission networks that carry electricity across communities, and solve their most challenging water infrastructure needs. They also design and build resilient infrastructure for facilities within the Life Sciences and Food & Beverage industries where even a brief disruption can carry serious consequences. The firm’s local team supports work in Ohio while drawing on technical experience from more than 75 offices around the world.
