Columbus, OH – AcuSport Corporation will add 80 new jobs as part of a $3 million expansion to its Bellefontaine headquarters, continuing the economic development momentum within the Columbus Region. The 19,000-square-foot addition and remodeling project will nearly double the company’s existing space and increase its Ohio workforce to more than 300 within three years.

“We are pleased to stay in Bellefontaine and to boost the business community here in Logan County,” said William L. Fraim, CEO of AcuSport, one of the major distributors in the shooting sports industry. “Our expansion will not only allow us to add more employees but will also create an opportunity to continue our growth.”

AcuSport chose to expand in Ohio instead of adding to its presence in Texas, according to Fraim. The company also has operations in Utah, California, Montana, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Texas.

“It’s great to have companies like AcuSport continue to contribute to the local economy and business community through expansions,” said Adam Brannon, mayor of Bellefontaine. “The ability for AcuSport to expand in Bellefontaine demonstrates our ability to be the ideal location for business.”

AcuSport’s expansion adds to an already robust Columbus Region logistics industry. The Region boasts more than 80,000 employees in transportation, warehousing and wholesale industries—a concentration 41 percent greater than logistics share in national employment.

“AcuSport is another great example of a distribution company proving that the Columbus Region has a welcoming economy for the logistics industry,” said Kenny McDonald, chief economic officer, Columbus 2020. “We hope that through this investment and job growth that AcuSport experiences continued success.”
