Columbus Region Once Again One of the Best in the Nation in Economic Development

Columbus, Ohio – For the seventh consecutive year, One Columbus has been named a recipient of the Mac Conway Award. The annual award recognizes the top 20 economic development groups in the nation as evaluated by Site Selection Magazine, the leading publication in corporate real estate, facility planning, location analysis and foreign direct investment. One Columbus serves as the economic development organization for the 11-county Columbus Region,
Winning agencies are determined by an index of corporate facility investment as tracked in Census-delineated regions by Site Selection’s proprietary Conway Projects database. Points are awarded based on six criteria: total projects, total investment and total jobs associated with those projects, and per-capita calculations by those same metrics.
“Being honored for a remarkable seventh year in a row is deeply meaningful to us,” said Kenny McDonald, President and CEO of the Columbus Partnership. “It affirms our team’s dedication and highlights the collaborative spirit prevalent throughout the Columbus Region among the business community, local development organizations, and state & local government.”
The Mac Conway Award is named after the founder of Conway and Site Selection magazine, McKinley “Mac” Conway, to recognize the work of outstanding economic development organizations and the important contribution they make to grow their respective local economies.
The Regional Economic Development Initiative (REDI) Cincinnati and the Dayton Development Coalition joins One Columbus as a recipient of the 2024 Mac Conway Award. One Columbus was named a recipient of the Mac Conway Award in 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018, and received an honorable mention in 2017. Earlier this year, the Columbus Region was once again recognized on Site Selection magazine’s ‘Top 10 Metro Areas’ list, with the state of Ohio ranking No. 3 on the magazine’s list of the ‘Top 10 States’ as part of the 2023 Governor’s Cup.
