Role and Responsibilities

In his role as Regional Talent Manager, David White serves as a resource in the development of talent proposals for companies seeking to expand existing operations or to introduce new operations to a community in the Columbus Region. He also acts as a resource for regional companies and their talent needs, facilitating connections and dialogue among various private, public, state and nonprofit resources.

Prior to joining One Columbus, David worked for over ten years in the private sector, largely focusing in human resources and workforce management. Through varied and diverse roles, he also has significant experience in operations, project management, and corporate IT support.

Community Involvement

Why do you live in the Columbus Region?

I’ve traveled extensively for work and pleasure throughout my life but have always called the Columbus Region home. Besides the amazing and diverse restaurants, neighborhoods, and communities, the people here are really what seal the deal. I haven’t found a community of people that are more friendly and welcoming anywhere. Columbus has big city amenities but still manages to maintain a small-town feel.

Why do you work in economic development?

After working in private industry for almost eleven years, I had the desire to do something more impactful with my career. Being in economic development allows me to use the expertise that I’ve accumulated throughout my career to partner with both private and public sectors to make the region more prosperous and have a tangible effect on the lives of everyone who calls the Columbus Region home.
