In 1969, a small company started in Columbus, Ohio. CompuServe left quite a legacy, including trademarking the term “e-mail” and hosting the first chat rooms. Their futuristic ad from 1982 seems funny now, but sometimes vision seems comical.
When it comes to your economic development strategy or other community initiatives, are you listening to your visionaries, your innovators, your scientists, your young people?

One Columbus Update
- Thank you our investors and partners for a great discussion last Friday at ED411 and the One Columbus Investor Update. More than 400 civic leaders from throughout the 11-county Columbus Region assembled to discuss, debate and think about our region’s economic future. Our team learned a lot and we hope everyone in attendance walked away more informed and excited about our opportunities and challenges. Links to presentations and videos played during the program will be posted to columbusregion.com later this week.
- Our team will be in Washington, D.C. this week continuing to build our Global Trade and Investment Strategy, in New York City meeting with consultants and in Charleston at the Area Development Consultants Forum – an event that will be hosted in Columbus in June.
- This week, the Columbus Region Logistics Council will hold its next Education Event. Also this week, the Columbus Bar Association is holding a panel on International Law: Expanding Your Market via Exports.
- Thank you to our Buckeyes for a great season representing the @cbusregion. Finish strong – we’re not done yet!
