“In the long run, if it isn’t a win for both of us, we both lose. That’s why win-win is the only real alternative in interdependent realities.”
-Dr. Stephen R. Covey
It’s easy to only interact with those that agree with your position. It’s easy to turn your back and go your own way. It’s easy to avoid the difficult conversation with someone that disagrees with your position or perhaps exposes your own faults or failures.
But we all know, and occasionally need to be reminded, that it is worth it to raise our game, to take the time and effort required to get to a better place. When we do, we most often find solutions that are not only win-win for both parties, but better than imagined at the outset. See this resource from the long-time best-seller The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
This week, let’s raise our game in our interactions, take the more difficult path, and seek win-win solutions that advance our communities. I promise that if we do, we will develop our economies faster, close gaps, and uncover unseen opportunities.
Let’s have a great week.
