“Plans to protect air and water, wilderness and wildlife are in fact plans to protect man.”
-Stewart Udall
We all know that economic development is a team sport and that there are many unsung players that help to make success possible. I would like to highlight one this week that has been on my mind as we enjoy the clean air, lakes and natural areas of this great country over the summer months.
Our partners in environmental permitting who work with companies to protect air, water and land and grow the economy are critical to development in any state or region. In Ohio, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources does an exceptional job meeting alongside our teams as we are considering green or brownfield investments that will create jobs and bring investment to the state.
It is a hard job and requires balancing not only the interests of many groups, but a myriad of regulations and technical requirements. The best people in this role are those who do their best to get to “yes” for the client within the boundaries of the rules.
I would simply like to say thank you and ask for your continued work to help drive the economy while maintaining a healthy environment in which we live, work and play.
