“Tough times never last, but tough people do.” –Robert Schuller
These are difficult times for working people. This experience will make us better. The wave of inflation, supply chain issues, and changing workforce and consumer behavior will accelerate innovation, breed new business models, and force us to make difficult decisions that will benefit future generations in our business and communities.
The problems we are experiencing–inflation, supply chain disfunction, and changing work and consumer behavior–create needed debate as well as a litany of noise. In parallel, we need leadership to undertake the process of breaking down unnecessary barriers and building new structures that can stand up against this era of volatility. Our future depends on it.
As you face these challenges this week, I hope we pause to consider how this can make us better. What short-term pain can we withstand to improve things in the future? Focus on the compromises and changes necessary to make positive change.
