“Followership is a discipline of supporting leaders and helping them to lead well. It is not submission, but the wise and good care of leaders, done out of a sense of gratitude for their willingness to take on the responsibilities of leadership, and a sense of hope and faith in their abilities and potential.”
-Reverend Paul Beedle
Gratitude changes everything. It stops us in our tracks as we consider what we don’t have or can’t attain right now. It gives others perspective who feel the same frustrations, and it forces you to look forward. With so much lost these past months, and uncertain times ahead, it is more important than ever that we use November to celebrate what we have and the people that make it possible for us.
I’ll begin by saying thank you to all of the candidates for elected office. Your willingness to lead in tough times is deeply appreciated and inspirational. The indispensable element in our recovery is servant leadership.
Let’s practice gratitude all month and start by having a great week. Let us celebrate the great opportunities we share as citizens of the United States, and keep working toward better days.
