Columbus, Ohio – Hollingsworth, a leading logistics provider to the manufacturing and distribution industries, has announced plans to expand its operations in Columbus, Ohio, investing $550,000 and creating 95 new jobs, pending local approvals. Hiring for customer service representatives, forklift operators, general office clerks, managers, packers, quality inspectors and warehouse supervisors will begin in Q3 2021.
Hollingsworth plans to increase headcount from 16 to 111 full-time employees at its facility at 2450 Spiegel Drive in Columbus, which will help prepare the company for current and future retail growth. To accommodate 95 new employees, the company will put its investment toward optimizing space at its approximately 500,000-square-foot facility, introducing new equipment and enhancing efficiencies with building improvements.
“By building upon our existing footprint in the Columbus Region and growing our presence in the Midwest, we are able to provide reduced shipping times and better service to our clients,” said Hollingsworth LLC President Mike McNamara. “Central Ohio’s existing logistics and retail sectors, along with its strategic location, will allow us to support new customers as the retail landscape continues to shift toward e-commerce.”
“We are thrilled to see Hollingsworth expanding its workforce by nearly 600% in Columbus,” said City of Columbus Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. “Here we have a great case study of a company that benefits from Columbus’ skilled labor pool and stable business ecosystem to scale operations in our market.”
The Columbus Region is a global logistics hub that supports some the world’s largest brands and top logistics service providers, making it a critical link in industrial and consumer supply chains. The Region’s location gives companies access to more of the U.S. population and employment base than any other major metro, providing unmatched accessibility. Within a day’s drive, you can reach 151 million people and 42,100 headquarters – that’s 46% of the country’s population base and 48% of headquarter operations. The City of Columbus is located in Franklin County, which is home to an estimated 1,316,756 residents.
“Hollingsworth is a leading logistics provider for manufacturing and e-commerce, and its expansion is an example of how Ohio’s talent and location are ideal for building out the nation’s supply chain,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “This investment will significantly grow Hollingsworth’s talent from 16 to 111 associates near the Rickenbacker International Airport, rapidly bringing jobs that will support the company’s growing customer base nationwide.”
