Columbus, Ohio – Daugherty Business Solutions (Daugherty), a leading advisory services and technology consulting firm, has announced plans to open a new, world-class Software Development Center in Columbus, Ohio, investing $1 million. The company is creating 100 new jobs, starting with software development engineers.

“The decision to expand our presence into the Columbus Region was a logical step in our business growth strategy,” said Daugherty President and CEO Ron Daugherty. “The area is rich with diverse talent from well-known, prestigious colleges and universities, as well as high-tech Fortune 500 companies. We have the opportunity to further expand capabilities as well as increase our ability to service current and future markets.”

Daugherty’s new Software Development Center will support the company’s rapid growth, drawing from Columbus’ deep pool of talent to remain competitive and continue to scale. The company’s Columbus operations will be virtual at first, with plans to select a permanent address for the Center pending COVID-19 developments. Daugherty’s investment will be used for training, IT and future leasehold improvements.

“As a partner to some of the world’s most well-known companies, Daugherty’s expansion to the Columbus Region is a testament to our competitiveness in the technology sector,” said One Columbus President and CEO Kenny McDonald. “We look forward to seeing Daugherty benefit from the Region’s prime access to customers, scalable talent pool and low cost of doing business. At the same time, their reputation as a force for good in the community will be a major benefit to us.”

The Columbus Region is home to 17 Fortune 1000 companies and several Fortune 500 companies, such as Nationwide, Scotts Miracle-Gro, AEP and Cardinal Health. Anchored by The Ohio State University, one of the largest universities in the U.S., the Columbus Region’s colleges and universities supply a steady pipeline of young talent, especially in high-demand fields such as engineering and computer science.

“Daugherty’s investment brings 100 new high-paying jobs and a world-class software development center to the Columbus Region,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “This was a highly competitive project that attracts a rapidly growing IT company to Ohio, bringing economic growth and hiring on day one.”
