Columbus, OH – Bell Incorporated today announced plans to bring 275 new jobs to the Columbus Region with the opening of Bell Ohio, Inc., the company’s first expansion beyond its Sioux Falls headquarters. Bell Incorporated is one of the largest independent folding carton companies in North America, and the $30 million investment in Bell Ohio, Inc., will expand its reach and capabilities. The specific facility site is yet to be determined.
“The Columbus Region provides our company with ideal accessibility to better service our customers, and positions our organization for strong near and long-term growth,” said Benjamin Graham, president and chief executive officer, Bell Incorporated. “We’re excited to join the ranks of great companies that are growing in the Columbus Region.”
“Bell is an exceptional company that is growing, innovative and focused. We are very humbled by their commitment to the Columbus Region,” said Kenny McDonald, president and chief economic officer, Columbus 2020. “We welcome them to Central Ohio and look forward to working with them to succeed.”
The majority of Bell Ohio, Inc.’s $30 million investment will be in new best-in-class printing and folding carton conversion equipment and facility buildout as well as recruitment and training. Customers served from the Columbus Region facility include Fortune 100 Food and CPG companies. New positions will be available for press operators, machine operators and production employees, and hiring is expected to start in early 2016.
“In a consolidating industry, Bell has emerged as one of the fastest growing packaging companies in North America,” said John Minor, JobsOhio president and chief investment officer. “Given the competition Ohio faced for Bell’s latest growth project, this attraction of the company’s first manufacturing facility east of the Mississippi is a great win for Ohio and the Columbus Region.”
