Columbus, OH – Laserflex Corporation, a full-service precision metal fabricator specializing in laser material processing technology, today announced plans to invest $2.7 million in the Columbus Region. The company’s investment will go toward expanding its current location at 3649 Parkway Lane in Hilliard and purchasing two state-of-the-art fiber optic laser cutting systems.
“Laserflex is always proud to say ‘Made In America.’ One of Laserflex’s fundamental company goals is to reverse the trend of shipping manufacturing jobs overseas by maintaining and growing high tech manufacturing jobs in Ohio,” said Ken Kinkopf, president, Laserflex Corporation. “These investments will add significant capacity, while improving the efficiency, quality and capabilities of our Hilliard, Ohio facility. Without this investment program, it would be impossible to further grow and diversify our customer base.”
The expansion includes adding 12,000 square feet to the company’s existing 75,000-square-foot facility, along with hiring 30 new employees over the next three years. Hiring for the new jobs, which will include manufacturing and equipment operations positions, will begin in June 2015 and will bring the company’s total number of Columbus Region employees to just over 100.
“The City of Hilliard is fortunate to have this innovative and growing company as a part of our community,” said Don Schonhardt, mayor, City of Hilliard. “Laserflex has been a valued corporate citizen in Hilliard, and we’re thankful for their continued dedication and commitment to bringing even more valuable jobs to our residents.”
