Headquarters announcements make headlines. The next phase reveals what a company can build from its new home.
Just six months after selecting Columbus for its U.S. headquarters, Engelbert Strauss, Inc, (known as STRAUSS) is putting that decision to work. The workwear and utility gear company has launched an integrated logistics partnership with DHL Supply Chain to support its expanding U.S. business-to-business operations.
The partnership brings STRAUSS’s warehousing, distribution and product personalization together through DHL Supply Chain’s Columbus-area operation. With capacity to process up to 1.3 million units annually, the scalable operation gives STRAUSS a strong platform to serve business customers across the United States and support continued growth from its Columbus home base.
This progress builds directly on STRAUSS’s December 2025 decision to establish its U.S. headquarters, showroom and learning and development center in the Arena District of Downtown Columbus. Together, the headquarters and logistics operation position the Columbus Region as the center of STRAUSS’s U.S. strategy.
“Choosing Columbus gave STRAUSS the right foundation for our U.S. growth,” said Henning Strauss, CEO and Owner of STRAUSS. “With our headquarters here and DHL supporting fulfillment, we can serve customers nationwide from one central location. Columbus is where we are building the future of STRAUSS in the United States.”
For the Region, the partnership offers a clear example of the long-term value of foreign direct investment. STRAUSS brought an established international brand and its U.S. leadership functions to Columbus. It has now connected those operations with another global leader operating in the Region to build the infrastructure needed for national growth. That sequence creates deeper business ties, additional capacity and a stronger foundation for continued investment.
“STRAUSS’s partnership with DHL shows how quickly a U.S. headquarters decision can support broader operations and growth,” said Deborah Scherer, executive vice president of global development at One Columbus. “Columbus puts much of the American market within a day’s reach. For global companies ready to grow, that geography can change the speed and scale of what comes next.”
That advantage is measurable: Nearly half of the U.S. population lives within a 10-hour drive of the Columbus Region. The Region’s logistics infrastructure helps turn that reach into faster and more consistent service across major U.S. markets.
STRAUSS chose Columbus as its American home. Its partnership with DHL shows the larger opportunity that choice created: a global company can establish, operate and scale its U.S. business from the same region.
