the Memorial Tournament

An annual stop on the PGA TOUR

Inspiration from the Masters, the drive to create a world-renowned golf course, and the desire to give back to his hometown led golf legend Jack Nicklaus to create the masterpiece that is Muirfield Village Golf Club. Just two short years after the course was christened, the inaugural Memorial Tournament was held in 1976. Since its inception and over forty years since, the Memorial Tournament, now presented by Nationwide, remains atop the PGA TOUR.

Ever-pursuing perfection in honoring greats of the game, creating an unparalleled experience for players and patrons alike, and fulfilling a philanthropic mission to help children and families in need are the foundation for the Tournament’s success. The Memorial Tournament is proud to call Dublin home and to contribute to the Columbus Region’s quality of life and economic vitality, while delivering national and international media exposure.

The vision of Host and Founder Jack Nicklaus was more than building a golf course, and the original inspiration of being instrumental in contributing to this great community and the Columbus Region’s sports landscape continues. For more information, visit
