A Simple Note

August 27, 2018

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
-John F. Kennedy

“Our shared values define us more than our differences. And acknowledging those shared values can see us through our challenges today if we have the wisdom to trust in them again.”
-John McCain

While going through some old business cards, I was reminded just how many people have helped us on our economic development journey in the Columbus Region. Some have passed, some have moved on to live elsewhere, and others have remained staunch, everyday advocates for the cause. I would like to sincerely thank all of them, wherever they may be, and tell them that their help made all the difference. Whether it was a welcome to the community, a note with an idea for a new initiative, or dedicated service as an official on a board of directors, it has made a lasting impact.

The reminder today is for all of us to take time to extend a simple note of gratitude to one or two community members, elected officials, or businesses that have made a difference in your economic development journey. The development of our neighborhoods, communities, states, and nation cannot proceed without people giving of themselves and using their talents to help us all rise.

Let’s have a great week and a safe holiday weekend.
