How We Can Help

Economic Development Week 2020

Between May 4 – May 9 of 2020, the Columbus Region is joining in International Economic Development Council (IEDC)’s celebration of Economic Development Week.

And we at One Columbus – the organization propelling the economy of the Columbus Region – are thankful to work in economic development, now, more than ever.

There has never been a more necessary time than today to support economic development efforts to create jobs, attract businesses and residents, and improve the overall quality of life.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MAKES OUR WORK POSSIBLE

This week – and every week – we thank all of our partners who make our economic development work both possible and more effective.

Together, we are working to create a better quality of life in our 11-county Columbus Region.

LOCAL COMMUNITIES + ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATIONS

The Columbus Region’s success comes from the 11 counties, and many communities, that make it such a diverse, thriving, and creative place where businesses of all kinds find success.

Within these communities are dozens of local economic development organizations that work closely with One Columbus to serve growing companies and foster skilled talent.

Our local economic development organizations are also members of the Mid-Ohio Development Exchange (MODE). It is our collaboration that makes us stronger and makes all of us better economic developers.

LOCAL GOVERNMENTS

One Columbus proudly works with many local governments within the Columbus Region, and throughout Ohio.

We are thankful for their service and stewardship of Ohio’s economy, while sharing in the vision to grow a more prosperous region, together.

JOBSOHIO + REGIONAL NETWORK

One Columbus works closely with JobsOhio, the private, nonprofit organization that promotes job creation and economic development for all of Ohio.

The JobsOhio Network is comprised of six geographic regions with specific industry strengths and resources; One Columbus is honored to be the network partner for the Columbus Region.

LOCAL PARTNERS, UTILITIES, SERVICE PROVIDERS

One Columbus is fortunate to have more than 300 public, private and academic organizations that have invested to support regional economic growth and make our work possible.

We are thankful to work with dedicated utility partners and service providers who help us exceptionally prepare sites and buildings for our companies to expand.

We work together with many additional organizations including local chambers and venture capital firms, to best serve companies in the Region, and companies moving here.

SITE SELECTORS

Our partnership with site selectors is extremely important. One Columbus works with hundreds of companies, and we know that those led by the site selection community have high impact and are likely very competitive projects.

We aim to provide new, concise, and factual information about the Columbus Region from a local perspective, so that site selectors can continue to best serve their clients and help them make well-informed, successful decisions.

LARGEST EMPLOYERS, HQ, SMALL BUSINESSES, ENTREPRENEURS

We are so thankful for companies – of all sizes – that have invested here, started here, and innovated here.

It is our businesses – large, small, established, new, women-owned, minority-owned – that both help us put the Columbus Region ‘on the map’ and create thousands of jobs for people living here, (and help entice people to move to the Columbus Region, too)!

And, our collaboration is unmatched. Individually successful, together unstoppable. #OneofUS

WORKFORCE PARTNERS

One Columbus cannot help to develop a company’s workforce or build a talent pipeline here without our partners.

We work with Columbus Region college and universities, career and technical schools, and additional state and regional organizations that help us bridge the gap between a company and the talent they are pursuing.

PARTNERS IN INFRASTRUCTURE

A primary objective One Columbus has for the Columbus Region is to increase both connectivity and global identity. And this would not be possible without the many organizations that help the Columbus Region become more connected.

The growth of passenger and cargo airports, railways, and major highways all allow, in turn, businesses to further grow here. Local transportation networks help move more employees faster from their homes to work, and smart mobility and technology tested here is setting the example on a national level.

TOURISM + HOSPITALITY PARTNERS

The Columbus Region’s economic success is strengthened by its culture – its food scene, sports, entertainment, events – not to mention its nationally acclaimed arts scene.

One Columbus is proud to work with organizations who help elevate the vibrancy of our region, and attract both future talent and business leaders.

COLUMBUS REGION RESIDENTS, TALENT, ADVOCATES

The Columbus Region community is the heart of it all. All our residents, our skilled talent and the advocates for making this community a better place – are what make our region the smart, open, vibrant place it is.
