Nelson Yoder

Crawford Hoying

Nelson Yoder’s diverse experience in finance, design, and construction provide him with a uniquely broad understanding of the many facets of real estate development.

He holds an MBA focused in Construction Management and Real Estate Development from the University of Cincinnati as well as a Bachelor’s Degree of Architecture from Ball State University. While attending architecture school Nelson worked in the construction field and acquired a practical knowledge of building that continues to inform his design and development efforts to this day.

Nelson worked with large Columbus, Ohio firm M+A Architects for over a decade, eventually rising to the position of Partner while overseeing the master planning, zoning, design, leasing coordination, and construction of over 7,500,000 SF of Mixed-Use, Retail, Office, Multifamily, Hospitality, Religious and Industrial projects. During his tenure at M+A, Nelson became a licensed architect and earned his certification from the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards (NCARB) and LEED Accreditation from the United States Green Building Council.

In 2010 he co-founded Real Estate Development Advisors (RDA), where his responsibilities included financial modeling, procurement of public subsidies, market analysis and management of consultant teams including a highly successful collaboration with Crawford Hoying on The Lane, an award-winning 350,000 SF / $40 Million mixed use project in Upper Arlington, Ohio near The Ohio State University. In 2012 Nelson subsequently stepped down from his posts at M+A and RDA to join Crawford Hoying Development Partners as a Principal and Partner to facilitate the firm’s development of additional new mixed-use projects.
