Nathan Strum

Nathan (Nate) Strum is a 2006 graduate of Muskingum University and currently serves as Economic Development Director for the Licking County Chamber of Commerce & Executive Director for GROW Licking County Community Improvement Corporation, a 501-c-3 public-private nonprofit in Licking County focusing on economic development initiatives throughout Licking County.

Nate began his career in economic development as the City of Zanesville’s Planner/Zoning Administrator before relocating to the Pittsburgh area for an opportunity with Allegheny County Economic Development where he served as a Business Development Specialist. Over the next 7 years, first with Allegheny County and then as a Project Manager with Regional Industrial Development Corporation (RIDC) of Southwestern Pennsylvania, Nate oversaw the ongoing redevelopment of approximately 1,000 acres of brownfields within Southwestern Pennsylvania while successfully procuring and administrating over $67,000,000 in federal and state funding sources throughout the region.

In addition to his professional work, Nate volunteered from 2012-2015 with the Brew House Association, a local non-profit, in their efforts to redevelop a former brewery into a mixed-use facility to support the regional arts. From 2014-2015, Nate led an effort to collaborate with a regional partner that successful received over $2,000,000 in tax credit financing for the project.

Nate received his certification as an Economic Development Finance Professional from the National Development Council in 2012 and is a member of the International Economic Development Council. In 2016, GROW Licking County was awarded the Pioneer in Economic Development Week by the International Economic Development Council for their seminar series, ED-101 Connect, which focused on connecting public officials with economic development – based resources and tools.
