Michele Blair

Economic Development Director
City of Mason

Michele serves as Director of Development for the City of Mason, one of the fastest growing cities in the State of Ohio. Ms. Blair joined the City in August of 2000. She has more than 20 years combined experience in economic development and public administration and consulting. In Mason she leads the Economic Development Department and is the Executive Director of the Mason Port Authority since 2005. Her focus is global business attraction, recruiting new business in the corporate, high tech, R&D and industrial sectors, manages incentive financing, master land planning and development, marketing. Blair also launched as is leading the tech and bio health startup strategy.

Mason’s strength in attracting new investment is complimented by the strength of the relationships they have with their current corporate citizens and the development community. This approach has aided with the closure of new company developments as well as continued expansions within the past several years such as Assurex Health a Myriad Genetics Company, AtriCure Global Headquarters, Intelligrated Global Headquarters, Procter & Gamble Global Beauty and Global Health, Prasco Laboratories; Lindner Behavioral Science and Research Center, Fujitec, Noritake, Seapine Software, AssureRx Health, ConnXus, and CR Bard. Over the past 18 months, Mason’s announcements totaled $500M in new investment and 3,000 new jobs.

Blair, a native of Cincinnati, came to Mason spent five years with the City of Loveland as Assistant City Manager where her responsibilities included public administration, urban design and economic development; and as a consultant for land and economic planning in SW Ohio. A graduate of University of Cincinnati, College of DAAP, Michele holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning and Administration and Masters work in Community Planning. She is an active in numerous civic and professional organizations and speaks regularly at local, state and national and international events.
