Columbus Region Selected to Participate in New Global Cities Exchange

The Columbus Region has been selected to participate in the Global Cities Exchange, a new network of 20 metropolitan areas committed to increasing global trade and economic competitiveness. Part of the Global Cities Initiative, the network is a partnership between JPMorgan Chase and the Brookings Institution.

HMB, Inc. to Expand Columbus Region Operations, Add 75 Jobs

HMB, Inc., an information technology company, is expanding in Westerville as a result of a continued increase to its production service line. The expansion includes adding 75 employees to its current roster of 145 over the next three years, and investing $550,000 in training, software and equipment.

Moriroku Technology North America to Build New Facility, Add 50 Jobs in Columbus Region

Moriroku Technology North America, an automotive parts manufacturer, has announced it will build a new facility in the Columbus Region to serve as the company’s research and development (R&D) center and accommodate rapid growth of its existing sales operations. The expansion will add 50 new jobs to the company’s current Columbus Region workforce of 32.

SK Food Group to Open Facility in the Columbus Region, Add More Than 250 Jobs

SK Food Group, a Seattle, Wash.-based company specializing in food products for a variety of market segments, has chosen the Columbus Region as the location for its next food manufacturing facility. The company’s $13 million investment will include the creation of approximately 250 jobs over the next three years.

Germany-Based xperion Breaks Ground on First U.S. Facility in Columbus Region

xperion, a Germany-based automotive components manufacturer, broke ground today on a new, 50,000-square-foot facility in the Columbus Region to house its first U.S. manufacturing and sales presence. The company's more than $6.3 million total investment will include the addition of 59 jobs over the next three years.

Columbus 2020 Third-Quarter Economic Update Reveals Continued Growth

In addition to expanding its current facility by 42,000 square feet, the company will add 92 new jobs to its 160-employee roster over the next three years.

Columbus 2020 Honored for Job Creation, Advertising at IEDC’s Annual Conference

Columbus 2020 was recognized at the International Economic Development Council’s (IEDC) Annual Conference, named a gold winner for creating the most jobs of any organization of its size in the past 12 months, and earning a silver medal in the category for “Most Jobs Announced Overall,” honoring top performers of any size. The organization also received a Bronze Excellence in Economic Development Award for its 2012 paid advertising campaign.

Milestone for Columbus 2020 Regional Growth Strategy

When the Columbus 2020 regional growth strategy was launched three years ago, it set ambitious goals for the decade. Perhaps the most important was the goal of securing 150,000 net new jobs by 2020. A third of the way into the decade, the plan appears to be on track with the 11-county region surpassing the 50,000 job mark earlier this year and currently sitting at 58,000 new jobs.
