Personal Care and Beauty Manufacturing in the Columbus Region

The Columbus Region is home to a high concentration of retail and manufacturing talent complemented by a highly-integrated supply chain hub. Personal care and beauty operations thrive on the Region's reliable and skilled talent, integrated and collaborative supply chain, and distribution and export capability.

Cross-Industry Talent

Talent to fill any need in the personal care and beauty supply chain is available thanks to the Columbus Region’s balanced mix of retail, logistics and manufacturing operations.

136,000 college students at nearly 60 college and university campuses—many with manufacturing- and logistics-specific programs across attainment levels—provide surge labor during peak production times.

Innovating and Improving Processes

An on-shoring solution that maximizes efficiencies and minimizes expenditures, the New Albany International Beauty Campus is innovating the personal care and beauty manufacturing process— with products traveling just 1.9 miles from concept to creation to distribution.

The first-of-its-kind campus brings together an entire supply chain once separated across states and, sometimes, even countries.

As Area Development covered, “Some of these companies manufacture the soap products, some make the plastic bottles or tubes that contain the product, and some make the cap that goes on top of the bottle or tube. Products are developed and completed at the business park and then shipped all over the world.”

Home to Leading Brands and Makers

Together, personal care and beauty companies employ more than 10,000 in the Columbus Region, and serve customers around the world.
