2017 was quite a year!
Innovative, market-leading companies chose to locate and expand in the Columbus Region, talented residents were recognized for their work and ideas, and major milestones were achieved.
In 2017, the Columbus 2020 team shared the Columbus Region’s story with hundreds of business leaders during 54 business development missions on three continents.
Sixty-three companies expanded in the Columbus Region this year. Together, they invested $1.54 billion and will create 5,100 new jobs that will change the lives of our residents.
Every corner of the Columbus Region shared in growth and investment. Here are just a few of the highlights:
UnitedHealth Group announced 700 new jobs in Dublin.
Leading textile developer Fluvitex announced its first U.S. operation will open in Groveport.
Fashion rental service Le Tote announced 400 new jobs at a new distribution center in Obetz.
Honda added more than half a billion dollars of investment at its Logan and Union County facilities with the addition of 300 new jobs to support Accord production, the production of Acura MDX, the establishment of an advanced wind tunnel for testing, and increase in transmission production capacity.
And all of the family photos and memes you like to share? Facebook is making those a little faster to upload with a $750 million data center in New Albany.
